Full Kitchen Renovation in Shevington, Wigan
In this kitchen we ran into a few unexpected issues once the work began — but as always, there was no turning back. To finish everything to our usual high standard, certain things simply had to be done.
We found rotten floorboards that needed replacing, and the air bricks were completely blocked, meaning there was no airflow under the floor. Once cleared and cleaned, the ventilation was restored. Fortunately, the joists and structure were still solid, so only the affected floorboards required replacement.
The electrics also needed upgrading to safely handle the new appliances and a powerful induction hob. After all the prep work was completed, the room was skimmed, painted and ready for the kitchen installation.
We added new LED lighting on the ceiling and under the wall units, plus a plinth heater connected to the existing heating pipes to keep the kitchen warm. The worktops were finished with matching wallboards and brushed gold details — trims, taps and socket fronts — bringing the whole design together.
In the end, everything came together almost exactly as planned in the CAD visualisation.
